William Riley is an award-winning baritone, an operatic stage director, conductor, writer and a teacher of vocal technique
to hundreds of elite performers over a decades-long career in world-class musical performances.
His
teaching studio in New York City is the starting point for the inspired pursuit of vocal excellence for those seeking better
control of an already talented vocal instrument. Through his tutelage, singers, actors and musical performers have pursued
their journeys into a brighter future of confident perfomances.
Professor Riley has been a longterm
consultant to the medical profession within the rapidly expanding world of the care of the elite performer's voice. He has
collaborated with his mentors Dr. Van Lawrence (Houston TX), Dr. Wilbur James Gould (Lenox Hill Hospital, Denver Center for
the Performing Arts, and The NIH) , and a host of now-established pioneers in the international voice care scene. This well-cultivated
rolodex is a result of more than 25 years of teaching singers and actors, teaching teachers of the vocal arts, and his participation
in the record-breaking training for physicians in the course at the American Academy of Otolaryngology: "The Actor and
Singer as Patient of the Laryngologist," the longest-running course in the history of the Academy. Every year thousands
of ENT doctors attend the Academy, and Riley, along with the team on the panel, instruct physicians in the extraordinary needs
of performers.
William Riley is a voting Member of the National Academy of the Recording
Arts and Sciences (Grammy). Over one hundred Grammies have been awarded to his clients over the years.
